The Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority launched a campaign to prevent heat stress, entitled “Summer Without Stress,” to raise awareness of the dangers of heat stress and ways to prevent it.
The campaign includes awareness field visits to various sites in the emirate, to ensure the validity of the decision of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation “banning the performance of work performed under the sun and in open places from twelve thirty in the afternoon until three in the afternoon, from last June 15 until next September 15.” .
The campaign offers awareness-raising workshops on the dangers of heat stress and ways to prevent it, and how to deal with it in the event of any injuries, through the "Salamatak" bus, which is air-conditioned and equipped to display a series of introductory videos on the dangers of heat stress.
Sheikh Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Authority, called on all contractors and those responsible for work sites to abide by the decision, and to refrain from employing individuals during the specified period, while providing all the needs that contribute to alleviating the pressure of the weather. And the need to take all preventive measures to avoid the risks that may occur with the advent of the summer, and to benefit from the authority’s instructions, to avoid accidents related to heat stress, in order to preserve public safety.
